i  met sam a few years ago when she had just started dating matt, so when she asked me to do their engagement photos i was more than thrilled! even though their wedding is a ways off, i cannot wait for these two lovebirds to start their lives together, they make the sweetest couple.

chris is just one of those sweet west virginia boys you always hear about. i had such fun hanging out with him on VT's campus with his family this past weekend. we were all worried about the storm coming to town but luckily the day turned out perfect to get these great shots. 

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM.

we are snuggled up in our little part of the mountains, waiting on the storm to hit. we were met with a chilled morning, wind gusts and light flurries as we made our way into work. a long drive to my favorite school with an early release allowed me to finish stocking up on last minute essentials, just in case. some new yarn, newly downloaded movies and a giant bone for olivia has left us all cuddled up on the couch warm together.

MK MAKEOVER PARTY FOR GINNY - ROANOKE, VA

              

last night we had a little girl's night at the studio. my dear best friend ginny is dealing with hodgkin's lymphoma and another coworker's wife sells mary kay, so of course it was a great opportunity to get the lifetouch ladies together for a little makeover party and a mini photo shoot. i think i may have found someone to do makeup for my photo shoots once i get my own little studio going!

when i first met kristi, she had just met this great guy named jason. fast forward a few years and little ira was born and a year later i was photographing their wedding. seven years have gone by since i first met miss kristi and it was such a pleasure to photograph their little family on ira's third birthday. this handsome little man is growing up so fast, before i know it i will be photographing his senior photos!

PCHS - PUP OF THE WEEK.

this handsome fella is less than six months old and a beagle/bassett hound mix. what a cutie, with the spunk to match his good looks! i had so much fun photographing the dogs at the shelter tonight. we asked people to come in to help walk the dogs and it worked so much smoother than just the president and i trying to wrangle then photograph.

CHICKEN (SHOULD BE GNOCCHI) TORTELLINI SOUP.

i orginially wanted to copy this recipe to a key, however that was just not in the cards.

i searched three grocery stores to find gnocchi and i was left with either a strange look or a missing space on the shelf. i decided to try with tortellini and it still turned out pretty darn good if i do say so myself.
